Weaning Success

This isn't make-up or beauty related at all. But I bought some make up and brushes so a post will be coming shortly!

Since Saturday night, I haven't been allowing Dante to fall asleep on the breast. Of course there were plenty of tears but since he hasn't been falling asleep on it, I've noticed a big difference in his personality. He appears a lot more confident and he isn't quite so clingy. We took him out on Sunday to a shopping center and he actually sat in the stroller and fell asleep when he was tired, which he never does! Usually he cries when he's tired and I have to pick him up to stop his tears.

Today, I thought I'd have a hard time trying to get him to have a nap without the breast, but he went straight to sleep with a dummy! Shock horror. I didn't expect all this to happen so soon. It has made life a lot easier for me, I can now go to the toilet whenever I need to rather than hold it in until he wakes up. I'm so happy!

I decided to wean him because I felt he was getting too clingy and dependant on the breast. He still breastfeeds, but only for nutrition about 3 or 4 times a day. There's another reason why I wanted to wean him though. A friend is coming over in September to celebrate her birthday and I wanted to be able to party with her. Now that Dante can go to sleep without me, I can leave him with someone for the night. Horray!
