I have finally decided to do something about my weight. Currently I weight 60kgs (132lbs) which means that over the past 8 months I have managed to gain 4kgs (9lbs). It doesn't sound like a lot but do you know what a pound of fat looks like? It's not pretty. And there's 9 of those ugly yellow lumps all over my body! Yuck!
9lbs really does make a difference- my jeans are tighther, my belly is pudgy and my face is fuller. So I plan on losing the weight by watching what I eat and limiting the amount of fat I consume. Today, for breakfast I had a bowl of cereal (Nutrigrain, it was all we had) and two slices of watermelon. Typically what I have is two slices of buttered toast, cereal, yoghurt and a hot chocolate with marshmellows (I'm addicted to it!) So really, I usually eat more than my body needs. By limiting the amount of calories I consume I'm hoping to lose the weight quickly.
Of course, what diet is complete without exercise? I'm not a huge fan of it, but I will attempt to do some form of exercise everyday, or at least every other day. I don't have a lot of time on my hands because my 11 month old demands a lot of my attention so it's going to be hard but I'll work it out somehow.
Today for lunch I plan on having a burger from Grill'd. I know, I know. I should be nibbling on carrot sticks and what not if I want to lose weight, but that is so not me. Take away my food and I will eat more of it! But whereas before, I'd have the burger with chips, this time I'll go without. So you see, I am making some positive changes. The only problem I have will be to stick to my "diet"... my love of food tends to overcome my desire to lose weight. But hopefully, by blogging about it, I will be more inclined to stick to it. Wish me luck!
